SkyTeam has appointed Nico Van der Linden as vice president of its Cargo Alliance, replacing Eric Hartmann who left the alliance in May to become vice president of aviation services at forwarder and logistics specialist Agunsa.
Mr Van der Linden joins SkyTeam from Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo, where he has spent more than three decades, having joined KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in 1985 as a project coordinator.
During his time with the carrier, which included its acquisition by Air France in 2004, he held more than a dozen roles and was most recently the director of development and aerospace logistics.
His appointment to SkyTeam Cargo took effect on 1 July, and will see him capitalise on his experience in commercial, customer service and operations, in both central and regional functions.
Mr Hartmann’s decision to leave SkyTeam was driven by a desire to spend more time with his family in Chile.
Prior to his two years with SkyTeam, he had a 15-year career with AeroMexico, holding two roles, firstly as director for South America and Europe before a year as senior vice president of sales.
