With the terrible news of another mass shooting coming out of Oregon this week, the fact that the US suffered one of its worst casualties in its maritime history has been somewhat under the radar. Although yet to be officially confirmed, it appears that Tote’s El Faro sank in the Atlantic last week en route from Jacksonville to Puerto Rico, possibly taking all 32 crew with it.
