Martinair pilots yesterday faced the sad news that about 110 of them will be made redundant. Another 170 ground staff and 50 other personnel will also leave the cargo airline. At a press conference in Amsterdam, the parent group said other jobs would be found where possible in AF-KLM. It would cost the group some €10-15m to find pilots other jobs, said the carrier, so they would likely be made redundant. However, about 85 Martinair pilots will retain their positions – for now.
