New FAA rules prohibit cargo delivery by drone

If you want to know why a drone-based supply chain future is looking less and less likely, read this piece from Air Cargo World, which reports on the Federal Aviation Administration’s new rule for commercial drones. A key sticking point is the need for the operator to maintain visual sight with it at all times, something which would be virtually impossible in today’s cities with their forests of skyscrapers. Most European legislation says much the same.
