Sydney port has been closed after what has been described as a “once-in-a-century” storm. Casualties included two containerships from Safmarine and Hapag-Lloyd, with the latter breaking its moorings to ram the former. A vivid account of the havoc the weather can wreak even in a well-protected bay.
