Interesting developments in China from carrier and courier SF Express. It is getting into the online-to-offline market – ie, opening stores where customers can pick up and deliver packages, including perishables, use fitting rooms for garments ordered online, and get repairs. SF Express is hoping to boost its position in the e-commerce market, but faces stiff competition from Alibaba’s Cainiao Network Technology, which promises to deliver goods to any destination in China within eight hours after an order is placed.
