June 10, 2014-Etihad Cargo and the Worldwide Information Network (WIN) are working together to increase electronic AirWaybill (e-AWB) adoption with independent freight forwarders.

Etihad Cargo’s first US export e-AWB shipment took place in early May on a flight from Chicago to Abu Dhabi.  The consignment weighing 152 kg was sent by Worldwide Logistic Partners (WLP).

Removing the need for a traditional paper AWB, Worldwide Logistic Partners in Chicago used the WIN platform to submit their e-AWB information to Etihad Cargo electronically.

Mitch Kamdar, Director of WLP Inc., said:  “For a long time we have wanted to automate our documentation process and WIN was the company that made it happen for us.

“WIN has a dedicated and knowledgeable team, which helped us follow all the necessary steps to ensure a successful shipment.
