I finally arrived in Shanghai after an exciting train ride from Shenzhen on Friday.
Chinese trains continue to amaze me. Piercing through the country at record speed, covering the 1,008 miles between Shenzhen and Shanghai in less than seven hours is just impressive.
In Germany, in about the same time, one can only get from Basel to Hamburg, which is about half the distance. One is tempted to laugh when considering the latest slogan of the German chancellor: “Germany Speed”.
