Those expecting a massive crash in US imports may end up being sorely disappointed.
That’s the headline story derived from a note sent to investors by UBS yesterday – headed “Imports Are Peaking But Sharp Near-Term Falloff Unlikely” – and in which the broker argued that there is “no indication of import slowdown (yet) in our UBS Evidence Lab dataset”.

Essentially, the analysts downplayed several negative reports concerning the shaky future of the US economy.
