Russian operator Volga-Dnepr has not had an easy time of late. A disappointing first half and a ream of managerial changes have put the pure freighter carrier under the spotlight. Now Cargo Forwarder reports that it is to overhaul its airlines business, with a focus on cost reduction, the launch of specialised services and “quality enhancements”. It comes not a moment too soon, and reality probably needed addressing earlier. First-half volumes across its carriers fell 6% compared with last year.
