There’s an odd story on Air Belgium on onemileatatime and Aviation24.be. The start-up cancelled its initial Brussels Charleroi-Hong Kong route in September, three months after the launch, which, according to a spokesperson, was due to “bad luck with investors about Hong Kong”.

It is now offering two very different destinations: Fort-de-France, Martinique, and Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe, with plans for Kinshasa, Congo, and Miami, Florida, and two destinations in China. Where its initial routes leave its cargo arm is uncertain – Martinique and Guadeloupe are unlikely to add much in the way of volumes. But the head of cargo told Cargoforwarder last year: “Cargo should be the cherry on the cake and not the difference between prosperity and demise. We have done our homework, we know our niche…”
