Trump is threatening to add tariffs onto $11bn of European Union imports, possibly in a bid to start more talks. The list of imports includes passenger helicopters, cheeses and wines, ski-suits and some motorcycles. The US claims the move is in response to subsidies given to Airbus. Analysts said that it looked as if Trump wanted to put pressure on the EU as it considers industrial tariffs. Bloomberg reports, noting that it is a bad time to hit the European economy. Meanwhile, the Washington Post has done a rather interesting analysis of Trump’s biases.
