How not to allocate budget
The Spirit of Tasmania replacement vessel debacle reached its nadir in 2024, culminating in incomplete port infrastructure and a vessel in dry dock halfway around the world, resulting in huge costs to the Tasmanian taxpayer and some long overdue accountability.

As explained previously, TT-Line and TasPorts signed an agreement to upgrade the berths to accommodate the new vessels.
