Drapers examines the growing tensions between the leading lights of high street retailers and their suppliers, with the former squeezing supplier margins in the face of growing cost pressures. This, says the report, is leaving relationships at rock bottom. Whether through retrospective discounts, or by increasing payment-stretch terms, suppliers say they cannot bear the brunt of what has been a difficult past year.
