Emirates has named Ross Barnett as its new cargo manager for the UK. He takes over from Phil Rawlings, who retired in July after nearly 18 years at the carrier.
Mr Barnett has been Emirates cargo manager for Northern England and Scotland for the past decade, overseeing the airline’s significant growth in the region and the launch of its successful Newcastle operation. Previous to that he was cargo controller for the Midlands and North. He has also worked for Aer Lingus and Servisair.
One forwarder who has worked with Mr Barnett said it was a good appointment: “He does what he says and doesn’t procrastinate – a fine man.”
