Norwegian, which is making forays into the cargo business with its new long-haul services, has escaped the ignominy of losing its AOC after Ireland finally granted it an air operators’ certificate. The Irish Aviation Authority has denied it an AOC twice, claiming that the airline was planning to use Norwegian staff for its Ireland operation. Norwegian, which last week ordered four 787-9 Dreamliners on operating lease from ILFC, plans to add flights to Los Angeles, Oakland and Orlando.
