It won’t come as a big surprise, but the EU appears to be stalling over Russia’s request for ‘green’ ACC3 status, which would eliminate the need for Russian carriers to get additional security certification when flying goods in or out of the EU. While a source indicated to The Loadstar that the EU has not yet put Russia on the ‘red’ list, hopes that the EU would green-light Russia have been dashed as political tension and the escalation of security threats have increased. The delay on the decision, which puts pressure on carriers to meet the July 1 deadline or the January 1 extension, is expected to cause a tit-for-tat ruling on EU carriers operating in Russia.
