Associated British Ports (ABP) has appointed Harm van Weezel (pictured above) to the newly created position of chief information officer (CIO).
Mr van Weezel will take up his new post with the UK’s largest port operator on 25 February. He joins from motorway service operator Welcome Break, where he has served as CIO since 2016.
He has previously held director-level IT roles at WPP Coretech, Mars and Tesco, after beginning his career at Accenture.
ABP chief executive Henrik Pedersen said: “We’re delighted to welcome Harm, who brings world-leading IT experience and expertise.”
Mr van Weezel added: “ABP’s 21 ports are key gateways for Britain’s international trade. It’s fantastic to be joining a business that plays such an important role in supporting businesses across Britain.”
