The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has appointed Jerry Kane (pictured above) as commercial director.
Mr Kane is a former sales director for some of the freight industry’s leading operators, including DHL, Yodel and Eddie Stobart, and has over 25 years of experience in the sector, including time spent running his own consultancy.
“FTA is recognised as the voice for the UK logistics sector and has an excellent track record in delivering tangible benefits to its members,” he said.
“It is a privilege to be given this opportunity and I am very much looking forward to joining the management team at such a crucial time in the FTA’s development.”
Chief executive David Wells said: “Jerry brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts to FTA as we embark on a new phase for the business.
“His energy and enthusiasm for the sector will help us to develop the commercial capability of the business and help to ensure that logistics continues to grow and flourish in uncertain trading times, as Brexit approaches.”
Mr Kane will be based at the organisation’s Leamington Spa offices.
