But today’s supply chains are coming under increasing strain as manufacturers rush more and more products into the market and customers get used to a wider range of choices; China is losing its attraction as a sourcing location by the day; and many western nations are trying to rejuvenate their manufacturing industries. Experts suggest splitting the one-size-fits-all linear supply chain into smaller supply chains that act “like a river delta”.
