Air NZ appeal on Australian cartel case rejected by High Court

Air New Zealand and Garuda Indonesia’s hopes of overturning a 2016 ruling that they colluded on implementing cargo surcharges has been dealt a near fatal blow, with the Australian High Court rejecting their appeal. Fifteen carriers were caught up in the legal action, which was initially dismissed in 2014 before a ruling last year held in favour of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
