Awery Aviation Software has strengthened its senior commercial capabilities with the appointment of Christian Gessner and the addition of David Kerr in a strategic advisory role, as the cargo software provider continues to expand globally.
Christian Gessner joins Awery as business development manager, bringing more than 20 years’ experience across air cargo, aviation technology and digital transformation. Most recently, he held senior commercial leadership roles at Wipro and Mindtree, where he focused on airline platforms and technology solutions for the travel, transport and logistics sectors.
Prior to this, he led global cargo sales activities at IBS Software and held senior sales positions at CHAMP Cargosystems and Unisys,. Earlier in his career, he spent several years at IATA, where he worked on cargo services, innovation and the development of new products for the airline industry.
Mr Kerr joins Awery on a consultancy basis to support strategic growth and customer engagement. He brings extensive senior leadership experience across air cargo, including nearly a decade at American Airlines Cargo, followed by executive roles at Etihad Cargo and European Cargo, where he served as CEO.
The appointments underline Awery’s ability to attract senior, well-established industry figures as it scales its ERP offering for cargo operators, said CCO Tristan Koch.
“As Awery continues to grow, we are building out our team with the very best from the industry. Both David and Christian have established reputations within air cargo, and their experience will be invaluable as we expand our commercial reach.”
