Schiphol Group has appointed a new head of cargo, Eduard Molkenboer, to replace Joost van Doesburg who left the airport in February.

Mr Molkenboer has a varied background, which includes logistics. He is a 10-year veteran of DHL Supply Chain, most recently as head of strategic projects EMEA, and he has also worked at ECT Rotterdam. His most recent role was as CEO for CleanLease, a textile care company.

Schiphol said: “Eduard brings over 30 years of international experience in supply chain management, including 25 years in executive roles across both corporate and private equity environments. He has a proven track record in leading complex transformations and achieving sustainable growth.”

Schiphol has been in the throes of developing its cargo strategy, and has refused media interviews recently as it finalises the details.

It said: “We are taking an important step in implementing our renewed cargo strategy. This strategy was developed in close collaboration with the cargo community and focuses on optimising the supply chain, increasing load factors, and strengthening cooperation with partners such as Cargonaut and Maastricht Aachen Airport.

“We warmly welcome Eduard and look forward to working together to further strengthen Schiphol’s future-proof cargo position.”

Mr van Doesburg quit Schiphol to join Dnata.
