South Korea’s CJ Logistics has poached Expeditors veteran Jonathan Song, appointing him head of global business as it looks to hasten its overseas growth.
Having spent more than a quarter of a century with Expeditors, CJ is reportedly hoping Mr Song’s appointment will be key in strengthening the company’s cross-border activities and pave the way for growth in India, the Middle East and the US.
“Jonathan is a strategic leader with unparalleled experience in global sales and marketing. His leadership will generate synergy with our network and logistics technologies, accelerating our push toward becoming a global top 10 logistics company,” the company said.
Joining Expeditors in 1999, Mr Song spent the last 11 years as the company’s SVP for global sales and marketing.
