The week is awash with financial results. Today, Norbert Dentressangle announced that first half revenues rose 13.4% and profit jumped 19%, helped by its contract logistics business. Road freight was less stellar, but still relatively strong. But perhaps more interesting was the company’s announcement that it is to move further into the US market with the acquisition of Jacobsen, a warehousing and 3PL provider, with domestic transport management. Costin $750m, some players have expressed surprise as Norbert had originally stated its focus was on buying freight forwarding businesses.
