Work has finally restarted on the Panama Canal expansion after the building consortium and government found some sort of resolution to their spat over cost overruns of $1.6bn. According to this Reuters report, there are still several issues to be ironed out, but sufficient agreement has been reached for the Spanish and Italian builders to pick up their tools again. Work is not now due to be completed until December 2015.
