Inevitably the ongoing US government shutdown is going to impact supply chains in and out of the country, and for days there has been mounting evidence that trade through the country’s ports and airports is slowing down. So far, the effects appear to have been relatively sporadic, as this report, collating a variety of anecdotes from exports, importers and port operators, demonstrates. The potential is for things to get a lot worse, however.
