The headline says it all: while clothing manufacturers in Bangladesh have come under unprecedented scrutiny following the recent disastrous factory collapse, workers in Cambodia, another emerging apparel production hub, have also been protesting against low wages. It is election year in Cambodia, and labour is becoming more unruly by the day. A factory that supplies Nike was trashed at the weekend, and production sites supplying other major western retailers have also been subject to stoppages.
