Amazon denies having unsafe workplaces, despite more than 600 accidents or narrow escapes recorded at its 50 UK warehouses over the past three years. And the incidents are rising in number, according to The Guardian. But Amazon denied it was unsafe, and said critics were painting “a false picture” and “sensationalised allegations”. In fact, it said, other places were far more dangerous, and it had 40% fewer injuries than other warehousing and transport businesses. Which does not exactly fill one with confidence.
