Qantas Freight is to cut back capacity after it decided not to replace its Atlas-Air leased 747 freighter. It had intended to take on a newer aircraft, but blamed a weak market for the decision. It has another lease with Atlas on a 747, which expires in 2015, which could spell bad news for the ACMI-specialist, which last month saw second-quarter net income fall, year-on-year, by about 33% to $20.4m.
