The first trial run with a Post-Panamax cargo ship in the new sets of locks on the Atlantic side of the Panama Canal

The $5.3bn Panama Canal expansion is set to formally open this month, but the first post-panamax vessel passed though the new locks yesterday, the 255-metre long, 43-metre wide MV Boroque, which was chartered by the Panama Canal Authority, although from the photos its clear the new locks will be able to take bigger vessels than this.
