Flexport has appointed ex-Maersk executive Jaap de Mots as its general manager Scandinavia.
Mr de Mots was at Maersk for more than eight years, in a variety of roles including PA to CEO Soren Skou, director trade and product management – Mexico and Central America and, most recently, as digital product director.
He becomes responsible for Flexport’s “growing” customer base in Scandinavia and will report to Jan van Casteren, head of Europe.
“Jaap’s strong experience scaling logistics offerings from both the technology and solutions sides at Maersk make him an excellent addition to the Flexport European management team,” said Mr van Casteren.
“The Scandinavian market is an important part of our growth plans. Having Jaap on board reinforces our commitment to build a world-class team and accelerate our growth in the region.”
Mr de Mots added: “I strongly believe digitalisation is critical in the future of the logistics industry and am confident that those that digitise now will be in the best possible position to deliver excellent customer experience, build strong competitive advantages and manage supply chains like clockwork.”
