After last year’s concern among freight forwarders that they could unwittingly be caught up in sanctions against Iran, comes the news that shipping lines are now pulling their services from the country as the US introduces further sanctions on July 1. Although there is an exemption on carrying food and medicine into the country, lines are not prepared to take the risk, according to this Reuters report. Forwarders who are still shipping goods into Iran should make themselves aware of the new regulations from the US.
