Interestingly, allegations of corruption among some of Polar Air former managers has not dented the enthusiasm of the US government to give the carrier a contract. On Tuesday, US Transcom said it had agreed with FedEx, Polar Air Cargo and UPS to handle government package deliveries, a deal worth some $2.24bn. The trio won a similar contract for the government which was due to expire at the end of this year.
