The two express giants have been given licenses to operate in the world’s fastest-growing express market. It remains a hugely fragmented sector, with something like 7,000 operators, although state-owned China Post is the resident 800-pound gorilla, with a 30% market share. And can UPS and FedEx overcome the sort of problems DHL failed to surmount in its bid to establish a domestic express business?
