DP World has announced that Ernst Shulze (pictured above) will take over from Chris Lewis as chief executive of the company’s UK operations.
Mr Shulze is currently leading DP World’s under-development Posorja port project in Ecuador, and is scheduled to take up his new post in the UK at the beginning of August.
Mr Lewis announced his retirement in November and, although he was originally expected to leave his post this month, he will now stay until the third quarter “to ensure a coordinated handover”.
Mr Shulze began his career in the port industry with Rotterdam terminal operator ECT before it was acquired by Hutchison Port Holdings, when he moved to its Felixstowe operation as head of rail operations. In 2004 he moved to DP World with stints in Le Harve, Manila and Santos, Brazil, before moving to Ecuador.
In addition, DP World has also announced that Alan Shaoul (pictured below) has been promoted to chief financial officer for the UK.
Mr Shaoul was most recently business development director at DP World’s Europe regional office in central London. He will now be based at London Gateway.
