This week saw four UK logistics executives at German 3PL Bertling convicted of using bribery to secure a £16m North Sea logistics contract. According to Reuters, Stephen Emler and Giuseppe Morreale admitted being part of a corrupt scheme to secure the contract, which involved over £350,000 being paid in bribes. Christopher Lane “pleaded guilty to a separate bribery scheme involving overcharging” and Colin Bagwell was convicted of that offence. All four worked for FH Bertling Ltd (UK), which went into voluntary liquidation last year.
