Ten US sailors are missing and five were injured in a collision between the USS John McCain and a Liberian flagged tanker east of Singapore in the early hours of this morning. The incident is the second of its kind in as many months after seven sailors aboard USS Fitzgerald were killed and the ship almost sank after being struck by a Philippine-flagged containership off the coast of Japan nine weeks ago. gCaptain reports a search-and-rescue operation is under way, with Malaysian authorities understood to helping.
