Australian retailers have had a headstart, in comparison with much of the rest of the world, but that advantage is over – Amazon is coming. The behemoth has revealed it is searching for an Aussie CEO and a location for its first logistics facility. As this article points out, the threat is real. Amazon now accounts for more than half every dollar spent online in the US, and retail analysts predict major Australian retailers could lose as much as half their earnings.
