Pall-Ex has made three new appointments, with Adrian Bradley coming on board as operations director, Chris Holland joining as director of IT and Mark Steel taking charge of sales and marketing.
Mr Bradley brings 21 years’ of experience to the palletised freight network, having served across a variety of rolls at UPS and Fortec, most recently as the latter’s general manager of operations.
Pall-Ex group managing director Kevin Buchanan said Mr Bradley’s industry expertise will bring fresh insight enabling the firm to remain “network of choice” for companies across the UK and Europe.
As operations director of Pall-Ex, Mr Bradley will be responsible for the night operation, facilities management, health and safety, the transport team, and the operations teams.
Mr Holland entered the logistics sector in 1998 as an analyst programmer for Christian Salvesen. He moved to Norbert Dentressangle after its acquisition of Christian Salvesen in 2005 as development solutions manager, and stayed with it until 2013 when he moved over to XPO Logistics as IT business solutions manager.
Mr Holland’s focus at Pall-Ex will be on evolving the network’s Transport and Warehouse Information Network Environment (TWINE) IT management system, which went live in 2011 and allows network members to manage their own shipments, as well as Pall-Ex consignments.
His first duty will be to perform a full analysis of the system’s architecture before advising and implementing upgrades to improve its speed, ease of use and reliability.
“True market leaders are forward-thinking in terms of IT and not just reactive. Chris has a proven ability to design and develop logistics and transport solutions that offer clear benefits to all stakeholders,” said Mr Buchanan.
“I’m genuinely excited to see the development of our IT offering over the coming months and years and, from what I’ve already seen, big changes are coming.”
Mr Steel will take charge of corporate sales, field sales and customer services operation. Prior to joining Pall-Ex he was sales director of haulier Premier Logistics – the largest member of the Pall-Ex network.
