Maybe it’s time for some innovation in the air freight industry as not much seems to have happened since the days of the Wright Brothers. There is no point moaning about prices and yields if you do nothing to improve the service level. You can’t expect customers to keep on paying the same (or more) for a service that doesn’t add any more value than it did 25 years ago. Some airlines don’t even have tracking that works properly yet. Some airlines, GSAs and air freight hauliers barely manage to answer the phone and most handling sheds create their own traffic jams on a daily basis. Is this the best we can do in the 21st Century?
