Here’s an odd one. Or not, depending on your perspective – a Chinese vessel, which appears to be operated by Cosco, has been arrested in the Colombian port of Cartagena after eight containers loaded with ammunition – around 100 tonnes of gunpowder and some 3,000 artillery shells – were discovered on board. The report is from The Guardian, a highly reputable news source of course, except that it contends the vessel was then bound for Buenaventura before heading back to Havana, Cuba – that would mean it going through the Panama Canal twice, which would be a really weird routing.
