Scan Global poaches its new Japan ocean freight boss from DHL Hillebrand

Scan Global Logistics has appointed Yifeng (Christopher) Zhang to  its head ocean freight operations in Japan.

Mr Zhang joined Scan from DHL’s Hillebrand Gori arm, where he spent six years, latterly as head of ocean freight procurement Asia.

Prior to that, he had a short stint at Panalpina after 12 years at DHL, during which he became senior manager of tradelane management.

Francisco Betancourt, Scan’s MD Japan, said he was pleased to welcome Mr Zhang.

“With nearly two decades of experience in ocean freight … Christopher joins us to confirm Scan Global Logistics’ transformation into one of the key players in the Japanese transport and logistics scene. Thanks for joining us, Chris, we are delighted to have you.”

Scan Global has recently been snapping up forwarders around the globe as it continues its growth plans.
