There’s been much talk of trade protectionism lately, especially in air freight. This may not be a tit-for-tat trade duty which is being levied, but the US military, which spends a fair amount on training shoes, is considering buying only US-made ‘sneakers’. The 1941 Berry Amendment states that the DoD must buy boots and uniforms which are 100%-US made – but trainers were exempted.
