Despite having one of the most open trade policies in the world, Mexico still relies on business with the US.  Some 80% of its exports are US-bound, and more than half its imports emanate in the US. This article notes that Mexico is trying to weaken that dependence, by widening its trade circles, quite specifically to include China, and plans to lower its tariffs and trade barriers with the Asian country.
