The air cargo industry has – understandably – been focusing on terrorism in its security efforts. But illegal cargo remains a problem, especially for the integrators, whether it be dangerous goods, arms or drugs.

In this article, following a court case, we learn that the integrators are a particular target for drug traffickers, especially from Mexico to the US. And as transport providers, such as UPS (which has recently launched a new ground service in the drug-riddled country), increasingly look to the Mexican manufacturing market, it could be worth ensuring that security deals with all aspects of illegality, and not just explosives.
