For a brief lesson on how not to handle air freight, this is the video. With more than one million views, it went viral on China’s Weibo this week – and will have done nothing for the reputation of either the air cargo industry, nor China Southern, the hapless airline involved. It comes compete with China Southern in-cabin mood music – and dry Australian commentary – “Fricking turkey”. Well worth a watch on a Friday afternoon.

June 21, 2013 at 4:51 pmArticle title may be a bit misleading. Does he work for the airport, the airline or a handler? The fact that he works at an airport doesn’t usually designate him as an airport employee. If he is, then the caution about China Southern would be unwarranted.

June 21, 2013 at 4:56 pmYou are quite right, it is. I am sure China Southern staff would handle air freight properly. Although I suspect that he no longer works for airport, handler or airline…

June 21, 2013 at 6:50 pmNo Alex China Southern did not handle it right. They allowed this happen because they did not feel that it was their duty to supervise the handling of the cargo.
Now they make a great many wonder if they should allow their cargo to be routed via China Southern, I know that I do.

June 21, 2013 at 6:46 pmIs it really the fault of the individual or is it the management, either the ground handler or the airline, that allows such behavior [misbehavior actually] to place in the 1st place?
Do wonder how much training was provided to this individual on the proper way to handle cargo?
