Despite the recent threat of an east and gulf coast port strike, which forced shippers to import inventory earlier than usual in the year, US ports are expecting a busy season. The Global Port Tracker shows that imported containers are expected to rise 9.9% year-on-year in October, while September figures were up 8% and August saw a 3.3% rise. It looks as if Christmas is coming – to the US, anyway.
