American Shipper has a good report on the US Advanced Air Cargo Screening Programme, which has been delayed further. US Customs said last week it was to extend the pilot programme for another year. Bureaucracy and complexity was blamed for the delay – and a desire to get it right. The industry, represented by TIACA, said the delay was “the right approach” to make sure the programme was properly tested before implementation.
