US cabotage protection gets more expensive

The US’s cabotage laws are coming under increased scrutiny. Here, Drewry argues that they are both expensive and not environmentally friendly, and there appears to be less political need for them. This analysis follows a recent call by the port of Portland chief, who said that the US “no longer has a need for cabotage laws”. But will anything change?
